Meeting with DIPNR Executive Director
Hi SOS Members
As a result of SOS member Councillor Monica Wangmann's efforts
I finally managed to arrange a meeting with DIPNR Executive Director, Metropolitan
Strategy Division, Kate Foy. Kate was most courteous. I spent an hour discussing
in detail the SOS submission on the Metropolitan Strategy, a copy of which we
emailed to you on 13 December. I get the impression that many in the State Government
all say the same things to each other about planning matters. These erroneous
concepts eventually become accepted as gospel as they do not hear any other
viewpoints or facts. Kate seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say and
asked questions about alternative planning policies that we advocate.
