Save Our Sydney Suburbs (NSW) Inc.
News Release April 2006

Upcoming State Elections

Hi SOS Members

The Save Our Suburbs Party will take part in the State Election next year and we are looking for good electoral candidates who support our values. We encourage community activists who are engaged in protecting neighbourhood character, environment and heritage values to become involved in the political process. As a result of a dynamic effort Save Our Suburbs became registered with the NSW State Electoral Commission. This means SOS electoral candidates will be able to:-

Standing as a candidate in a local electorate is an excellent way of putting pressure onto major party politicians, especially in marginal seats where preferences may swing the balance. For the candidate, standing is an excellent way of becoming known in the electorate.

We will accept as candidates folk we find suitable who have objectives similar to ours. If you are interested, or know of anyone who might be, please contact us.

Callan Park

The epic battle to save Callan Park is not yet over. A community function on master planning Callan Park will be held from on Sunday, 30 April. This includes a tour commencing at 1 pm and a seminar from 3 to 5 pm. Details are attached.
